Our experience is drawn from working across the globe with people on the ground.

About The Prince’s Foundation

The Prince’s Foundation supports people to create community.  Whether through championing a sustainable approach to how we live our lives and build our homes, teaching traditional arts and skills and restoring historic sites, or by looking after places to visit for everyone to enjoy, The Prince’s Foundation is leading the way forward.

We believe that sustainably planned, built and maintained communities improve the quality of life of everyone who is part of them. They help us to both live better at a local level and start dealing with the broader challenges of rapid urbanisation and climate change.

Our goal is a future where all of us can take part in making our cities and communities more sustainable. We support people to plan the future of their community, to learn the skills they need to build sustainably and to share the results as examples of best practice in planning, urban design, architecture and construction.

We have also been working very closely with Commonwealth Partners to raise the profile of sustainable urbanisation in the Commonwealth. Our various joint activities undertaken in 2020 can be found on this website: www.commonwealthsustainablecities.org including live recordings from the Commonwealth Sustainable Urbanisation Online Programme which was held online from 24 June – 02 September 2020.
